Pag dating daw sa set, co-actors ang turingan nila ni ng boyfriend niyang si Khalil Ramos. “We always tell ourselves that we are actors first when we are on the set. Secondary na ’yong, you know, ‘Okey, we are in a relationship or we’re partners. But being an actor comes first.’ We help each other.”
Open gumawa ng GL o Girls Love series ang Kapuso actress na si Gabbi Garcia.
At kung sakali raw mabigyan ng chance sa ganitong proyekto, ang First Yaya star at fellow Kapuso artist daw na si Sanya Lopez ang dream niyang maka-pareha.
Sinabi ito ng aktres kahapon, September 23, during her virtual media conference matapos ang muli n’yang pagpirma ng contract sa Artist Center, ang talent management arm ng GMA Network.
Natanong kasi ng entertainment press si Gabbi na since kare-renew lang niya ng kontrata, ibig sabihin ay assured siyang may trabaho sa mga parating na buwan at taon. Sino pa raw ba, among the GMA stars, ang panagarap niyang maka-trabaho sana.
Bukas naman daw si Gabbi na makatrabaho ang kahit na sino pero kung may chance daw siyang mamili, ang first choice niya would be no less than Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes.
“Ako, anybody talaga na they would give me to work with I’m game naman,” sagot ng actress-singer. “But siguro if you would ask me whom I really want to work with siguro I really want to work with Kuya Dong.”
Naging co-stars na sila dati sa Encantadia (2016) pero never naman daw sila nagkaroon ng eksena together.
“I always see Kuya Dong sa guestings, ganyan but I haven’t really worked with him in a show or film,” paliwanag pa ni Gabbi.
Pangarap din daw n’ya ang makagawa pa ng maraming pelikula.
“And in a future I really want to do more films,” aniya. “I want to explore my versatility as an actress sa film, sa pelikula. Kasi it’s different, ang shooting sa film, e. You need to have a lot of patience. You need to really, really study and own the character.”
Isa pa sa nabanggit ng aktres ang pagiging game n’ya to do a series kung saan girl ang kanyang makakatambal.
“Future dream roles? I really want to do a GL [Girls Love] series,” pahayag ni Gabbi. “I want to challenge myself and, at the same time, I am an ally [of the LGBTQ community]. I wanna do that.
“And siguro, more action [series or films] pa. And siguro, I’m also game to do film that is like…coming of age film. Mga ganu’n.”
At dahil nabanggit n’ya ang GL series, natanong s’ya ng press kung sino ba ang napupusuan n’yang maka-work para dito kung sakali.
“Sabi ko nga, it’s fun to work with Sanya when it comes to GL [series],” sagot n’ya.
Natuwa pa s’ya nang malamang game din si Sanya na gumawa ng GL series based sa naging media conference ng First Yaya lead star after ng contract renewal nito with GMA a few months ago.
“Ayon, parang nakikita ko din ’yon. Parang very possible because Sanya and I are close and we worked together na so I feel like there’s gonna be a good dynamic there,” masayang saad ni Gabbi.
Samantala, kahit naantala ang taping ng first GMA teamup nila supposedly ng real-life sweetheart niyang si Khalil Ramos for Love You Stranger, ay agad naman itong natugunan dahil sila din ang magkapares sa tapusang new drama anthology show ng GMA, ang One Million Comments, Magjo-jowa na Ako! for Regal Studio Presents.
Thankful daw si Gabbi sa opportunity na ito para sa kanila ni Khalil.
“It’s our first TV appearance together. Mas exciting s’ya. Also, it’s nice that Regal [Entertainment] and GMA are collaborating with this kind of project. It gives a lot more opportunity to the artists of GMA and at the same time dagdag-good vibes every weekend,” lahad n’ya.
“I’m excited for this show to air, ’yong episode namin ni Khalil because it’s just really light. It’s a romcom. Di ba, sa panahon ngayon it’s important to feel light and to cheer up ourselves. Pati ako, I’m looking forward to see the whole episode this Saturday.”
K’wento pa n’ya, mas gamay na daw nila ang isa’t isa habang ginagawa ang project na ito kumpara sa pinagsamahan nilang pelikula dati.
“At first kasi, when we were doing our movie before for Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino doon talaga medyo nagkakapaan kami on our work ethics. But after that…kasi a lot of opportunities came in for us working together. So, this one was kind of a breeze for the both of us,” pagbabahagi ng aktres.
“It was a lot easier when it comes to our work ethics…kasi we always tell ourselves that we are actors first when we are on the set. Secondary na ’yong, you know, ‘Okey, we are in a relationship or we’re partners. But being an actor comes first.’ We help each other.
“Khalil is very generous when it comes to acting. He really talks to me. He discusses with me the obligations of the character, the story. So, it’s a give-and-take kind of work ethics for the both of us,” pagtatapos ni Gabbi.
