Si Cindy Obeñita na ang ikalawang Miss Intercontinental winner ng Pilipinas kasunod ni Karen Gallman na nanalo naman noong January 2019.
Wagi ang pambato ng Pilipinas na si Cinderella Faye “Cindy” Obeñita sa katatapos lang na Miss Intercontinetal 2021 pageant.
Tinalo ng 25-year-old Pinay beauty mula sa Cagayan de Oro ang nasa mahigit 70 kandidata mula sa iba’t ibang bansa sa grand coronation ng nasabing patimpalak na ginanap sa Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt nitong Biyernes, October 29 [Saturday, October 30 sa Pilipinas].
Talagang nagningning ang kinatawan ng bansa na nakapasok sa Top 20 bilang wildcard candidate at lumaban hanggang sa nasungkit ang ikawalang Miss Intercontinental crown ng Pilipinas.
Nahahawig pa sa naging tanong kay Janine Tugonon noong Miss Universe 2012 ang napuntang tanong kay Cindy during the question-and-answer round.
There, she was asked: “As an international ambassador, do you believe that speaking English is important for Miss Intercontinental? Why or why not?”
Dito umarangkada si Cindy sa kanyang sagot.
Aniya, “As an ambassador, I don’t think speaking a specific language is very important here in Miss Intercontinental or any pageant at all as long as that woman is a woman of power and grace, commitment and intelligence no matter what language she speaks.
“And if that woman is actually a woman of style and substance then she can win any pageant or any endeavor she is into.
Pagpapatuloy pa ng Pinay beauty queen, “I have learned here actually in Miss Intercontinental that a woman should possess a power of substance. And I believe I am that woman.
“Because that is the essence of the modern-day Miss Intercontinental, that we are living in a world that is hard to survive… And as a Miss Intercontinental I would like to be that source of hope, of inspiration through power of beauty and that is felt in the kindness of our hearts and, definitely, in the sincerity of our loving actions.”
