Matatandaan na last April ay naging pahirapan para kina Geneva Cruz na maipasok sa ospital ang kanilang Mama Marilyn, who was suffering from pneumonia, dahil punuan na ang mga hospitals that time dahil sa mataas na kaso ng COVID-19. Na-admit naman si Mama Marilyn at bahagyang bumuti ang kanyang lagay pero binawian din s’ya ng buhay pagkalipas ng ilang araw.
Sa isang heartwarming letter idinaan ng singer-actress na si Geneva Cruz ang pagka-miss sa namayapa n’yang ina na si Mama Marilyn.
Kahapon kasi, November 2, ang kauna-unahang All Soul’s Day na wala na ito sa piling nila matapos pumanaw due to pneumonia na sanhi ng COVID-19 last April.
Sa kanyang sulat, sinabi ni Geneva na walang araw na hindi n’ya ito nami-miss mula nang namaalam ito pitong buwan na ang nakararaan.
“Dear Mama, It’s been seven months since you were taken by Covid pneumonia from us. There’s never a day when your existence is not missed, and I sometimes catch myself talking to you out loud even in circumstances where other people were present, and they probably thought I was crazy, but the truth is… life is a bit crazy without you in it,” pahayag nang nangungulilang si Geneva.
Kahit nasa kabilang buhay na daw si Mama Marilyn ay pakiramdam n’ya na ginagabayan pa rin s’ya nito. Iyon daw ang nagpapatatag sa kanya ngayon.
“Today is All Soul’s Day, and the family and I are praying that you are constantly celebrating being in the arms of Father God and our other relatives up in heaven. Thank you for watching over us,” aniya.
“I still sometimes feel you around me, which gives me stability and protection that even when some people misjudge me, I still hear your voice to keep me sane and strong.”
Inalala din ni Geneva ang life lesson na itinuro ng kanyang mama sa kanya na dala-dala n’ya as she moves forward in life.
“Like you always said in the past, ‘The important thing is that you are not intentionally doing anyone harm and if some people are offended because of who you are, and you have nothing but love for them… then they are simply not for you. Just know that you will be okay because life is not always fair, and not everyone will like you. The most important thing is to know that WE, your family, love you, your true friends love you, and you can just keep on loving the other ones from afar.’ Wise words,” pagbabaliktanaw ng aktres.
Paglalarawan pa n’ya sa kanyang late mom, “Ma was always either passive (she was the master of silent treatment) or very blunt, but that’s who she was.”
Pagtatapos ni Geneva sa kanyang letter, “Ma, thank you for the sermons, lessons, and beautiful memories. I know that you’re cheering me on and that I never lost you but rather had earned an angel in paradise constantly watching our family and me.
”Loving you forever and always, Genevy.”
