Smart and articulate ang Palitan star na si Luis Hontiveros. At kahit no-filter niyang sinasagot ang mga mapangahas na tanong, kering-keri niyang ipaliwanag ang kanyang modern views na hindi offensive to the ears and sensibilities.
May laman, in short. Hindi lang pretty face and physique. Tamang-tama siya sa mga pelikula ni Direk Brillante Mendoza na may mga mapaghamong tema.
Sa pinakahuling virtual press conference ng Vivamax No.1 movie na Palitan, nabuksan ang topic ng pagsilip ng private parts ni Luis sa highlight scene ng pelikula, which is ’yong foursome ng apat na bida—siya, si Rash Flores, Cara Gonzales, at Jela Cuenca—sa very scenic waterfalls.
Pinagpipiyestahan na kasing kasakuluyan sa internet ang mga screenshots ng “pasilip” and natanong ang aktor sa reaction niya about it.
“Umm, ano ba?” tila nag-aalangang panimula ng Kapuso actor. “To be honest, hindi planado ’yon…”
Aniya, naka-plaster daw siya that time. But unfortunately, dahil sa tubigan nga ang eksena ay kumalas ang plaster at nag-babu.
“Not like Rash, I didn’t have the balls, the courage to go all out na nang walang plaster, but I had plaster on set bago sumulong sa tubig.
“But dahil nga nasa waterfalls [kami[, rushing ’yong water, malakas ’yong current, hindi na kinaya ng plaster. Nainitan na siguro, ayun lumangoy. Naging entrance fee na lang sa waterfalls. Haha!” pagbibiro pa niya. “Siya na ’yong pambayad ng aming pag-u-utilize sa kanyang beauty, ng location.”
Ayaw naman daw niyang magpa-cut ng eksena dahil mahirap i-execute ang scene. Mas madaling ituloy nalang kesa mag-start all over again, kumbaga.
Naging maingat naman daw siya sa kilos para nga walang sumilip pero unknown to him, saktong nasa itaas na pala nila ang drone sa puntong nagbaba siya ng briefs kaya nahagip si “totoy.”
“Hindi ko na gustong putulin pa…na magpa-cut ako [ng eksena] kay Direk, i-antala pa ang lahat kasi mainit ng araw na ’yon.
“Unang-una, napakalamig nu’ng tubig. So, it would be somewhat unprofessional for me to cut off the whole scene just to kabitan lang ulit [ng plaster].
“Ako, I did my best. I just didn’t know…hindi sinabi sa akin na nandoon na pala ’yong drone sa taas ko. Kasi may kamera sa likod namin. So, okay, tatalikod na muna ako. So, I dipped my waist down kasi sabi ko hindi mapapansin sa tubig. But I didnt know na nandoon na pala…akala mo Big Brother ’yong dating, e. So, wala, e.”
Ipinagkikibit nalang ng balikat ni Luis ang nangyari. Ang mahalaga raw ay maganda ang kinalabasan ng pelikula and he’s proud of it,
“My reaction to the [viral] photos? I don’t know,” pagpapatuloy ni Luis. “It’s not easy, to be honest. It’s not easy. I mean, unless you’re a pornstar, you would be completely proud and okay about it…
“But I’m proud of the film. Kung ano ’yong naibigay, at maibibigay na experience no’ng aming pelikula, I’m proud of that.
“That unfortunate accident, let it be something of an experience na lang to the viewers. I will leave it at that. Kung mas matuwa sila, that’s good. Kung ano ’yong maramdaman nila, sa kanila na lang ’yon. But for me, I kept it professional.”
Hirit na biro naman ni Direk Dante, kaya daw siguro nag-number one ang kanilang pelikula ay dahil sa kumalat na photos ng kanyang private parts.
“Kung wala daw ang picture mo hindi tayo magna-number one,” biro ni Direk.
Cool na cool na tinawanan at sinakyan lang ito ni Luis.
“Direk, baka naman…hahaha! Boss Vic [del Rosario], baka naman masundan [ng project],” balik na hirit ni Luis.
But turning serious, he adds: “’Yon nga, right now I think ’yon lang… parang hopefully they still maintain their respect kahit na may ganoong photos tayo na lumabas, diba? Kasi we didnt put out the film to serve it as porn to everyone. We put out the film to serve as a big question to stimulate critical thinking as Direk Brillante said. So, my photo, that should be the least of the concern and focus of this film and this topic all in all.”
Kung tutuusin ay lesbianism ang main theme ng pelikula dahil tungkol ito sa isang secret high school lesbian lovers na hindi pa pala naka-move on after all those years na nagkahiwalay sila. Nabuhay muli ang kanilang pag-iibigan nang magkitang muli despite their efforts to “straighten” their lives while they were apart.
Pero dahil sa pasilip ni Luis, baka Pasilip na ang title ng Palitan sakaling magka-Part 2.
